Maya Obadia is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, providing compassionate, evidence-informed care to teens and adults seeking support, healing, and meaningful change. She works with clients navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, identity exploration, and the emotional weight of major life transitions.
Maya’s clinical foundation is shaped by extensive training within leading healthcare institutions, including SickKids and the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto. Her work in these settings developed her specialized ability to support individuals and families living with cancer, chronic illness, and complex medical journeys. She continues to help clients process the emotional, cognitive, and relational challenges that emerge across diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship.
Maya also has a dedicated focus on supporting women through perimenopause, menopause, and midlife transitions. She offers a warm, validating, and knowledgeable space for clients experiencing mood shifts, uncertainty, changing identities, and the physical and emotional demands that accompany hormonal change.
Her therapeutic style is grounded, collaborative, and deeply attuned. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, relational psychotherapy, self-compassion practices, and Motivational Interviewing, she helps clients understand their emotional patterns, shift unhelpful behaviours, and build practical, sustainable strategies for growth. Maya is committed to helping clients reconnect with themselves, cultivate resilience, and find greater peace and clarity in their personal journey.
She offers in-person psychotherapy in Toronto as well as secure virtual sessions for clients across Ontario. Outside of her clinical work, Maya enjoys spending time with her family, finding sunshine whenever she can, being near the water, and savouring slow, mindful coffees.
